WWC was life changing to say the least. through this class, i have found so much confidence in just 7 weeks, both in my writing and just my place in the world. every meeting was a lesson in showing up for yourself and others, even on the hardest days. inspiration flows like honey in this place!! Haley is by far the best teacher I have ever had, and she cultivated the richest, most beautiful learning environment. If you're thinking whether or not you should take this class, take my review as a sign to indulge yourself in one of the most amazing writing workshops! Haley is one of a kind teacher. She leads and teaches this workshop with such love and light. Throughout 7 weeks, you will be put through lots of emotions and self-discovery, whether through your own writings, or your peers'. Not an impromptu kind of writer? No worries. Haley has many many intriguing and interesting writing prompts that could potentially later become one of your newest works. You'd also have the opportunity to befriend with some of the most creative and beautiful human beings as you go through this journey together. I come out of this workshop as a much more confident writer than I've ever been. My insecurity was met with such compassionate, encouragement and praises. I have never felt so affirmed in a writing class. What I love most about Haley is that she sets strong feedback expectations and allows every student to decide what level of feedback they feel they want to receive and she also tailors every workshop session to what that specific writer needs. That differentiation allowed the class to give good, kind, constructive, and specific feedback. I loved how much this class emphasized community building in addition to celebrating good writing and I am so grateful for a new writing community to consistently share my work with in the future. There was so much kindness infused in this class and I loved it!!!

Haley’s writing class lit my soul on fire. Yes, it helped me put pen to paper but even more than that this class gave me the courage to call myself a writer. I came into Haley's class a confident writer. But I wasn't sure how much reverence my current piece of work warranted and I was wary of letting anyone else hold it with me. Timidly, I took a chance and shared the work I was protective over. It was worth it. My writing gained a new life and I had a space where I could exercise courage while my piece is in its vulnerable stages. The fear of revealing this particular work is still there but I know I can still write despite the worry. And I have a small writing group that has already seen what I can do and is cheering me on. Haley believes in this writing of mine and she helped me figure out what to do with it when it is finished. Writing classes have never not terrified me. Everyone is so cool, but like, in a way that doesn't look like trying and they all read the same books and write with the same pens! And they know all the words of ever and I'm just sitting here rhyming words with "fart" like a loser! I've been convinced that writing and being a person always comes easier to everyone else. But: I was suspicious I was using that weird mythology of "everyone else" to hold my creativity hostage. So: I signed up for Haley's class mentally prepared to roll my eyes at everything & pretend to be cool. But I never had to. Not once. I was never expected to be anyone other than myself, and everyone else did the same. And we all talked about how much and how hard we were trying! TRYING IS COOL, Y'ALL. Trying to write more and be more ourselves and put more of ourselves into the world is the whole point! Every single person taught me at least ten things about writing and twenty more about how to be a tenderhearted human being in the world. I wrote more than I have in so long, and my favorite things to write were comments and feedback on my classmate's beautiful work. Getting the chance to be in the room when someone is trying--really trying on purpose--and making themselves known out loud is the best thing I've ever been a part of, and you get to do that every week here. It was the very best choice I've made for myself in a long time & I will be forever grateful for the way Haley held us all, inviting us to be more of who we're here to be. — Kelly

I highly recommend this course to anyone who is even slightly considering it. It was so so worth it and I am proud of myself for trusting the pull to do it, even though I didn't fully know what I wanted to get out of it going in. I had hesitation about joining a multi-category class as I really wanted to gain confidence as it relates to novel writing. By workshopping poetry, non-fiction, fiction, etc. I gained tons of insight into narrative, voice, literary devices - best class I've ever taken (and there's been a lot!). From new writers to those with years of experience, this class will change your life as a writer. You will come out stronger technically and personally, and ready to achieve your goals. It was so worth it. Haley teaches a totally different writing class than anything I've taken. From driving confidence to driving results -- I've written more in seven weeks than I had in two years. I've got new projects to think through and a plan of attack to finish a current project. I would take this class over and over again. Many writers know that a strong community helps you across the finish line with any project, and I came out of this class as a stronger writer with an exponentially stronger community. I cannot wait to watch my cohort group succeed, and I'm proud to be writing alongside a group of smart, creative, confident writers who are pushing me to be better. - Eliza

I haven’t been consistently writing for a few years and I haven’t taken any writing specific courses since college. I went into this class with the expectation that I would get back into my creative practice and have some writing prompts and structure in my corner. What I’m coming out of this experience with is more than I ever could have expected or dreamed of… the community, boundaries, love, and respect that Haley facilitates is so incredible. Not only do I feel like I’m finishing with an amazing writing community that will far outlive the class, but in 8 weeks my writing practice has been off the charts and I have an outline and 10,000+ words written for a book!
