Not only do you leave connected with the most immaculate group of  writers and a newfound writing community, but your writing will improve in so many ways. Haley’s teaching style and structure is so supportive of every genre and every type of writer. My writing improved greatly with the workshops, the amazing prompts she provides and with the new perspectives you get each week. This class is truly so special and unlike any other writing group I’ve been in. If you’re on the fence, just jump! And the class will catch you in the most unexpected, beautiful ways! This review is for the scaredy-cats: Take the class. Just Take the Class. This is how you fall in love with writing again. Haley creates an environment that is affirming, challenging, and communal in all of the right ways. She is a teacher with the ability to tailor her style to each writer’s genre and needs, and her feedback is specific and infused with tough love. She’ll make you work— and you’ll want to. I am leaving this class with practices, pieces of writing, and (perhaps most importantly) a community that I did not have before. Thank you for holding a space that was welcoming enough for so many of us to bare our hearts to one another and feel confident we would be held. That is what forges true friendship. This workshop taught me that you need not be in person to form deep connections, which has opened my heart and mind tremendously.

If you're even thinking about enrolling in the workshop, do Future You a favor and sign up for Haley's newsletter (and pay attention to when it drops)! Unlike so many other workshops/containers/classes held over Zoom, WWC gives you all the tools you need to build a community that will last beyond the workshop. I have never made friends over the internet so eagerly and easily (and I had a tumblr in 2010 FFS). Before WWC, I looked voraciously for a local group of writers... any community I could clutch to craft and share my devotion to writing. I came up short and I am so glad I did. I learned so much from my cohort about my own work and unique voice as a writer through their thoughtful feedback and was floored by the talent and perspective of my peers when reading their work.
